Olive My Love

8.13.18

Our tour guide took us over to the Sunday morning market today. He led us through isles and isles of assorted food and goods and then proceeded to tell us we had no time to stay. It was heartbreaking. I could feel my mouth watering as we walked past the buckets of olives and table sized pans of paella. The visit did remind me of my love for tasting local dishes and ingredients. My new goal for the rest of the trip is to stop into a grocery store at each stop and grab the local favorite candy bar and/or a fruit that I haven’t tried before. I’d like to ask the customers or the cashier what their favorite snack is to get a better idea of what is most popular in the area. I took photos of some of the beautiful and delicious looking dishes we passed. We spend a fun filled day traveling to Normandy but tomorrow seems like a great day to shop and eat like the french do.
