Barely Hanging On

5.15.18

We took a 2 hour train ride to Paris today and I forgot to download music to my phone and I had no service, so I pulled out my iPod touch from middle school. I had way too many tracks from the little mermaid soundtrack. Since I hadn’t pulled it out since then i hadn’t remembered the condition of the charging cord. While I was prepared for the day with a full night of sleep that cord was frayed and peeling. I was afraid to lay in on my lap but it actually worked! I got to look out the window while listening to all these moody songs and I realized if I told my middle school self I was on this trip through Europe she would freak out. “Paris is the bomb!”  -Sydney (in year 2007). Anyway the fields we flew passed were gorgeous and the housing stayed relatively subtle. Each home was medium to smaller in size and they were organized into patches. No neighborhoods. Then we passed a series of industrial buildings and denser higher rise apartments before we pulled into the station for our first day in Paris.
