The Journey Matters Most

According to my phone, yesterday I walked 27, 250 steps or 11.7 miles. Safe to say that this is probably my new record. We had a class meeting when we arrived to Paris but afterwards enjoyed the whole day out in the city. I headed out of class with a fellow classmate, Lakin, and we stumbled upon the Luxembourg Gardens just a few minutes into our aimless journey. We walked through the gardens and ran into our TA, Claire. Because she had spent time in Paris before, she showed us around the gardens and directed us to a fantastic spot for crepes and we then parted ways. With crepes in hand, Lakin and I continued our walk. Without intention, we reached the Seine and walked alongside it until we got to the Louvre. We stopped here until the security guard sent us out because the museum was closing. Popping into stores and admiring various gardens along our way, we managed to walk for a few hours until we were hungry for dinner. During our meal, we decided we would go to the Eiffel Tower. I planned our metro route and after we paid, we were on our way. (Give me a break, our feet needed the relief of public transport.) By chance we ran into a fellow classmate as we neared the Tower, and by even greater chance we all caught the last elevator up to the top floor. This meandering trek made for a splendid day.
